Term 1 saw the return of the Pak’nSave Te Awamutu Super 6 junior touch module, with teams belting it out over six weeks, for the winning spot in their grades. There were 60 teams across four grades, with the following teams taking out the titles:
Year 1/2: Ohaupo Primary Kāuri Red
Tear 3/4: Pokuru Panthers
Year 5/6: St Patrick’s Rebels
Year 7/8: TA Intermediate Blue
We’d like to thank our sponsor, Pak’n’Save Te Awamutu, for their ongoing support of junior touch in Te Awamutu, as well as our Club Board Member, AJ Bryant, and his wife Paula, for helping out with our fundraising BBQ each week.
Our amazing referees, who draw largely from Te Awamutu Intermediate, as well as a handful of ex-junior players from Te Awamutu College, went through a foundation course with Waikato Touch, before reffing all games this season with confidence.Their service to touch is appreciated and we look forward to seeing them on the fields again in Term 4, when we will see the return of both junior and senior touch modules, across an eight-week season.
