Te Awamutu Sports Cricket's 2022/23 season is all finished but 2023/24 is quickly approaching. Last season we had 4 junior teams and 2 senior teams. The Junior teams all played hardball cricket and ages ranged from yr 5 to yr 8. We have some awesome young cricketers in the club.
All children are welcome. We hope to see lots of new boys and girls sign up when registrations open in September.
Our 2 Senior teams VE VETS BLUE and PML Gold, both fought hard throughout the season. Blue finished mid-table in the Spark Comp ( The Spark Comp is a combined competition played between Hamilton, Counties and Waikato Valley), picking up some impressive wins before Christmas but not quite mating the semis. Blue also made the 2 day final against Cambridge but lost in a train-affected match.
PML Gold which plays in the Waikato Valley B Grade competition battled away through the season. Finishing 4th and 6th in both their 40-over competitions was a pretty good result considering most of the season they were thin on numbers. Congratulations to Zak Gibson for securing and contract with Northern Districts.
Most also mention our previous players Kristian Clarke and Jake Gibson for also getting contracts with ND and Otago respectively.
