We are excited to announce Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu as our new Naming Rights Sponsor. Te Awamutu Sports will now be called Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu Rugby Sports & Recreation Club Inc. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting offers for our club members.

Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu is now the official sponsor of the Te Awamutu Sports & Recreation Club. This highly regarded sporting venue boasts some of the best facilities in the Waikato, including one of the biggest clubrooms in the region. Plus, with nine different sports codes, for both Juniors and Seniors, it draws ‘out of towners’ to Te Awamutu while providing the community with an action-packed array of sporting and social opportunities to enjoy.

Mark McNaughten, Te Awamutu Sports Club President, says “Te Awamutu Sports and Recreation Club is delighted to announce Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu as the new Club Naming Right Sponsor. Ingham Mitsubishi has been in business within the Te Awamutu community for twenty-three years, so it’s great to have a synonymous local business partnered with the club that aligns with the same values and initiatives that Te Awamutu Sports and Recreation Club offer and delivers to our local community.

Prior to coming on board as Club Naming Right Sponsor, Ingham Mitsubishi have already been partnered with the Club, supporting over the last two years, the roles of our Community Sports Director, Ollie Ward, and our Director of Rugby, Travis Church, with the generous sponsorship use of two Mitsubishi Triton Utes, to assist in their roles delivering all sport and recreation into the local community”.

The club’s focus on community involvement made it a perfect fit for Ingham Mitsubishi, especially given the Ingham family’s connection to the area.

With an automotive legacy in the Waikato dating back to the late 1960s, the Ingham’s Te Awamutu dealership originally opened as a Honda franchise in April 2000, before becoming a Mitsubishi retailer in 2010 when it was felt the Mitsubishi range was better suited to the needs of local residents  – especially with regards to commercial vehicles. It has since become a mainstay of the motoring industry with a reputation for excellence, delivering exceptional service and quality.

Stefan Cooper, Dealer Principal at Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu, is delighted to sponsor this prominent township hub.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Te Awamutu Rugby Sports & Recreation Club,” he says “We are grateful for what they bring to our tight-knit community through the current 9 different sporting codes. And as such, we are looking forward to a long-term partnership and fostering further relationships across our region.”

Understanding the importance of family and community has been a cornerstone of the Ingham Motor Group, which strives to make a positive impact in every city where its dealerships are located. In addition to their Te Awamutu operation, the family has built on patriarch David Ingham’s original Otorohanga Motors facility, with his son John expanding into Hamilton, Taupo, Hawkes Bay, Tauranga, Auckland Central, and Auckland North Shore. John is still active in the multi-generational business which is now overseen by himself and his son (and David’s grandson) Trent.
